Students can take in Practice Mode

Modified on Mon, Apr 21 at 2:26 PM

This feature allows students to practice an assignment over and over again as often as they like.  The assignment opens blank each time it is accessed in practice mode because the answers are graded but not saved.

To enable this feature, you must access the Assignment Editor by following the steps below.

  1. Select your class from the Classes drop-down menu. Reminder: If you only have one class it will already be selected for you.
  2. Click on the three vertical dots next to the assignment name or click on the assignment name to open the assignment menu and select Edit Assignment.

Once in the Assignment Editor screen, you will see the Students can take in Practice Mode setting under Additional Configuration on the right-hand side.

To enable this feature, select the checkbox beside Students can take in Practice Mode.  Once enabled, the Practice Start and Practice End dates will automatically populate with the End Date of the assignment but the dates can be changed to any date of your choosing.

To disable this feature, select the checkbox beside Students can take in Practice Mode to remove the checkmark and grey out the Practice Start and Practice End Dates.

How students will access and interact with Practice Mode

Students will select the vertical ellipsis or click on the assignment name and select Take in Practice Mode from the Assignment Menu.

During the open practice period dates, the student will see a screen like the one below with Practice Mode in red under Class Management.

If the student attempts to access Practice Mode before or after the active practice period dates, they will receive a message, similar to the one below, stating when Practice Mode is allowed.
