Managing Extensions for a Student

An assignment can be extended by changing the Due Date for the entire class on the Assignment Editor screen.  If you want to extend an assignment on an individual basis, you will need to add an extension for each student.

To add or manage extensions for a student:

1. Find the assignment name on the Class Management screen.  
2. Click on the vertical ellipses or the assignment name
3. Select Edit Assignment from the assignment menu to open the Assignment Editor screen
4. Click on the Extensions button

After clicking on the Extensions button, a pop-up window will appear like the one below.  Click on Add New Extension to begin adding an extension.

After clicking the Add New Extension button, the window will change to allow you to enter an extension.

1. First, select the student's name by using the drop-down or by typing in the field.
2. Next, change the assignment dates as needed by typing in the box or using the drop-down, which will produce a calendar to help you select a date.
3. If the assignment is timed, you can adjust the total minutes allowed under Timed Assignments. Note: This represents the total amount of time available to the student and NOT additional time beyond the original time set.
4. Lastly, to save your settings, click the Update button or click the Cancel button to exit without saving. 

After clicking on Update, you will return to the Add New Extension screen but now you will see the extension settings you just added.  Click on Edit to edit the extension, Delete to remove the extension, or Reset to reset the timer for the student on a timed assignment.  When you are finished click on the "X" in the upper right-hand corner to return to the Assignment Editor screen.
