To integrate your Expert TA class with Blackboard, follow these step-by-step instructions:
Step 1: Enable LMS Integration in Expert TA
Log into Expert TA.
Go to Edit Class.
Click on Configure my Class for LMS Integration.
From the drop-down menu, select Blackboard.
The LTI version will be pre-selected as 1.1, as this is the only version supported for Blackboard.
Click Proceed with Integration.
You will now see your integration information (Consumer Key and Shared Secret). Copy this information and keep it handy for use during the Blackboard configuration steps.
Step 2: Register the LTI Tool in Blackboard
In Blackboard, go to Administrator Tools.
Select Integrations, then LTI Tool Providers.
Click Register LTI 1.1 Provider.
Configure the Tool Provider:
Provider Domain: Enter the domain listed in your Expert TA integration information.
⚠️ This domain is the same for all Expert TA classes and does not change.
Under Default Configuration:
Choose Set separately for each link.
Leave Tool Provider Key and Tool Provider Secret blank.
These will be entered within the individual assignments.
Under Institution Policies:
Set Send user data to: Send user data only over SSL.
Check all boxes under User Fields to Send.

Click Submit to save the tool provider settings.
Step 3: Link Assignments from Expert TA in Blackboard
Make sure you have at least one assignment set up in Expert TA before continuing because you will need the assignment link located near the top of the page in the Assignment Editor.
In your Blackboard course, go to Course Content.
Click Create.
From the menu on the right, choose Teaching Tools with LTI Connection.
Configure the LTI Link:
Assignment Name: Enter the assignment name (it may default to “New LTI Connection”).
Visibility: Set the assignment to Visible to students (defaults to hidden).
URL: Paste the LTI link from the assignment page in Expert TA.
This link is found at the top of the assignment’s edit page in Expert TA.
Once the link is added:
Key: Enter the Consumer Key from your Expert TA integration info.
Security Token: Enter the Shared Secret from the same location.
Enable:
Open in a new window
Create gradebook entry for this item
(Optional) Set Due date and time to help students keep track in their Blackboard calendar.
Set Maximum Points to 1 or greater (required for grade syncing).
Click Save at the bottom to finish.
