The Custom grade template has all the same settings available in Grade Preference Templates, but the settings in a Custom template apply only to the assignment they are set on. This can be useful for one-time use but if you find yourself using the same settings repeatedly, we recommend that you create a Grade Preference Template to save yourself some time and effort.
To set a Custom grade template:
- Click on the assignment name or the down arrow next to the assignment and select Edit Assignment from the assignment menu.
- Select Custom from the Grade Template drop-down menu
- A pop-up window will appear showing the Assignment Custom Grade Template. Set the various settings to what you want for the assignment
- Save your changes when you are done by scrolling to the bottom of the pop-up window and clicking the Save button.
To check or change settings on a Custom grade template, simply double-click on Custom in the Grade Template drop-down to reopen the pop-up window and make changes.
Warning: Making changes to the grade template for an active assignment (between the start date and end date) can lead to unexpected results. If changes are made to the grade template for an active assignment, the changes will only apply to answers submitted after the changes were saved because the system will not regrade previous submissions to the edited template settings.
