Expert TA offers a way to copy an assignment or clone a class. This will allow you to repeat an assignment from class to class and retain any settings you applied.
- To start, select the class you want to copy or clone to from the Classes drop-down on the Class Management screen.
- Select Copy Assignment/Clone Class from the Class menu drop-down
- On the next screen, the system identifies the class you are copying to so you can ensure you are copying to the correct class.
- Next, select the class you are copying from (in this example we will select the Phys 101 class).
- Place a checkmark next to the class to select all of the assignments in the class
- or click on the "+" to the left of the assignment name to expand the assignment list and select one or more assignments individually by clicking on the checkboxes beside each assignment name.
- Place a checkmark next to the class to select all of the assignments in the class
- Once you have selected the assignments or the class you want to copy, click on the Perform Copy button to copy them to the selected class. In the image below we are copying two assignments from the Phys 101 class to our new Physics 101-001 class. To return to the Class Management screen without copying, click the Cancel button.
- After clicking on Perform Copy, you will receive a pop-up notification asking if you are sure you want to perform the copy. Click on OK to copy or Cancel to return to the Copy Assignment/Clone Class screen.
- After clicking OK, you will receive another pop-up notification advising that the copy was successful.
- Lastly, after clicking OK on the successful copy notification, you will return to the Class Management screen where you can see and modify the assignments you copied.
Note: When copying an assignment into a class that has an assignment with the same name, the assignment name will be amended with "(Copy 1)". If the same assignment is copied multiple times, "(Copy #)" increases by one for each copy. If you copied the assignment multiple times by mistake, you can delete the extra copies individually. If you intentionally copied the same assignment into a class multiple times, you could rename the assignment or leave the name as is with no changes.
